Description: A web page, designed to showcase a logo created by me.

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I created this webpage by using HTML and CSS codes in TextWrangler. It was a little overwhelming at first because I have never coded before, but it was satisfying to see the completed project in a web browser after all the coding was done. I also used http://www.W3.org HTML validator to make sure that my coding was correct.

In the separate CSS document, I changed many elements of my design in order to make it visually appealing. I changed the colors of the background of heading one and the text color of the link. I tried to change certain elements to colors that were in my logo, to create repetition and uniformity. I found the colors by opening my logo in Photoshop and using the eyedropper tool to find the hex codes. I also used padding in many areas in order to create more white space. Programs/Tools used: TextWrangler and Photoshop.

Message: That my company, Diamond Interior Designing, is a very high-end and reliable designing company, and a resource for those looking for some excellent interior designing.

Audience: My audience is anyone who is in need of an interior design job in their home or even their office.

Top Thing Learned: The top thing that I learned is everything to do with coding with HTML and CSS in order to create a webpage.

Color scheme and color hex(s): Complementary: Violet (#7B2775) & Lime (#889B3B). I also used a light gray for the background of heading 1 (#4C4C4C).

Title Font Families & Category (all names): Palatino Linotype, Book Antiqua, Palatino, serif, Oldstyle

Copy Font Families & Category (all names): Tahoma, Geneva, Sans-Serif

Changes made to the CSS: I changed the font families, the color of some of the text to match my logo, the background color of heading 1 (and the outline of the body), and the background (picture of a metal fixture).

Word Count: 416

  1. Hi Abby! Your web page is a very unique design of an interior design company! I like that it is more of a modern theme. Your background image really ties your whole page together. Great job on your logo. I like your bright, contrasting colors. I like how you changed the color of “My blog” at the bottom of your web page to match your color scheme. I didn’t know that was possible. I would contact your company for a business office makeover!

First off I really like your logo design, it fits into the web page layout nicely and I liked how you used elements from it throughout the design. Your color scheme is great, I think it sends that sleek and stylish message you are trying to achieve with an interior designing company. I also really like the background image you chose, it makes the page much more captivating and has nice flow to it. Overall awesome job on your project I was impressed!
